According to the news about it, it should be able to double as remote screen for the BB connected via bluetooth.
I always wanted to invent a device like this. Put it in a car. Either as an add-on from the manufacturer, or as a third party add on.

For me, this thing is a must have, if it really works like that.

Pair BlackBerry® PlayBook with a BlackBerry smartphone* via secure Bluetooth® connection for full access to:

Push technology
Email, calendar, BBMxxx8482;, tasks, documents and more

BlackBerry security and data efficiency
*BlackBerry PlayBook can pair with BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry® Device Software v5 or higher

This is going to be such a nice feature to those that wish for a bigger screen.

Imagine, having this built in in a car you rent, or in just every car.
You have all information you need conveniently at your disposal. And, if you leave the car, you take it with you.

But, this feature is something only for people already using a BB. And probably only important for a small percentage, unless the BB system has a monopoly.

I hope, there will be enough people buying the device for other reasons, thereby making the thing more affordable for this custom application.

It must be simply amazing!!! I guess I will wait until I can do a side by side comparison first,
Good point. I'm just too excited to hear that Blackberry finally released the specs. The problem is we don't know of the official release date now. There will be a lot of speculation but I suspect 2011. I really do hope it is Christmas and they go head to head with the ipad.

This is a product way overdue. I will be the first to buy it.

I think quality will matter as well. If you remember, the Storm 1 was rushed out and became a nightmare for many users initially

Is November realistic when we are still waiting for the Torch to be released to different countries. Rogers here in Canada was supposed to release it in September but are delayed for some reason.

I feel that the Playbook will come out in Jan or somewhere in Q1 2011.

Timing wise my predictions Torch, then OS 6 for 9700 etc in 2010 and then Playbook in 2011

I hope I'm wrong and everything comes out in 2010.
