Hello all,
I'm new to this site and hope I am welcomed. I have an issue I'm running into with my Blackberry 8530 for MetroPCS. As of about 5pm eastern my phone lost it's signal reception and it's been down ever since. I contacted
Metro from another phone and they claim service is functional in my area. I have reseated the battery and reloaded the OS software however I am still not receiving a metropcs signal. I can go into the Mobile Network settings and change the Network Selection Mode from Home to Automatic which allows me to connect to the Verizon Wireless network just fine. I say this because in this setting I recieve 2-3 bars of service and all outgoing calls get forwarded to verizon wireless. When I switch it back to Metro I again lose my signal, right now the status is "No Service" but this fluctuates with "Searching for Network.." does anyone know what could be the problem? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That's on MetroPCS's side. Check with them that you're account is listed as being in good standing. Sounds like they cut you off for some reason.

I made a couple of calls out to them, eventually being transfered to their technical support group who insisted I bring the phone in for service. That just doesn't add up to me, thanks either way for the suggestion. I will probably bring it in tomorrow morning, I'm just hoping a BB guru out there has seen this before.

Not many folks with BlackBerrys use MetroPCS. They started as a text & talk only company, expanding eventually into data services. Their coverage is not as good as the major Tier 1 carriers, and they haven't even offered BlackBerrys until fairly recently.
