I have a BES 5.0 + Interim Maintenance Pack (installed Saturday)
Now, since then strange things are happening:
The battery of the device is down within 4hrs !
This might be unrelated to the Server, and, I ordered a new battery (the original is only 6 Month old).
Today morning the Server became unresponsive, about 40 instances of "CalHelper.exe" eating up memory and CPU
I rebooted the Server and began to check the logs of the Server and the device. I found a few strange things, which occur frequently, see below.
Code:
[40000] (06/22 21:26:31.749):{0x1A74} [BIPP] Ping 59 sent
[40000] (06/22 21:26:31.749):{0x1A70} [BIPP] Ping Response 59 received
[40944] (06/22 21:26:57.937):{0x1A78} BES Mail Profile doesn't have rights to check permissions for user besadmin@mydomain.com on folderId 18
[30000] (06/22 21:26:57.937):{0x1A78} Public Folder Monitor: MAPI error 80070005 detected at PFSession.cpp (206)
[40000] (06/22 21:27:31.749):{0x1A74} [BIPP] Ping 60 sent
and:
Code:
[40944] (06/22 21:39:23.725):{0x1A78} BES Mail Profile doesn't have rights to check permissions for user besadmin@mydomain.com on folderId 20
[30000] (06/22 21:39:23.725):{0x1A78} Public Folder Monitor: MAPI error 80070005 detected at PFSession.cpp (206)
[30181] (06/22 21:39:26.382):{0x1A40} Performing system health check (BlackBerry Mailbox Agent 1 - BESX Version 5.0.0.120)
Also, I checked the device - Bold 9000, OS 5.0.0.90:
Battery temp is at 36Deg. Celsius, my subjective feeling is, this is rather high
I think the wristwatch icon appears more then normal when switching applications
In the system log of the device a frequent "severe Error" is logged, about every minute:
Code:
No detail message
net_rim_os
SyncApplicationChangeList
getChanges
0xBD26
net_rim_os-8
SyncAgentConnection
getPendingChanges
0xA81C
net_rim_os-6
DeviceSession
<private>
0x17EE
net_rim_os-6
DeviceSession
run
0x105C
Two other Blackberries ( 8310 and 8800 ) which are also connected to the Server behave normal.
But:
Synchronisation works 100% OK for mail, calendar, address book, etc. etc., with one exeption:
I cannot get access to the public folders address book - still havent figured out why. In addition to the Exchange Admin permissions, I meanwhile tried to give besadmin any right which I found to the public folders.
I can see the public address book in the mail component of the server, and, can set a checkmark on it, but in the users management there is written "Published public contact folders: none defined"
I tried to find the folders matching the "folder ID" of the logs with a vb script from the forum. No folders are ID 18 or 20.
I do not care much about the public folder problem, I will find this out sooner or later, but, I fear that something on the server is going on which is related to it, which will randomize my appointments in the near future.
I think, I first try to fix the public folder problem, to get rid of the Error messages on the server and patiently wait for the new battery to arrive.
My Question:
Which permissions must have the besadmin user for the public folders to work? I did some research at rim, but found nothing.
I someone else has an idea about the error in the systemlog of the device, I would be interested in this too.
