Unhappy Ring Volume Problems

Please Login to Remove!

I need help again on a different issue. I have a Blackberry 8700 and had the ring volume set at high.

For no apparent reason it is now ringing at low volume even though my profiles at set at high. When I test it, it rings at high volume, but the moment I receive a call it is back to low.

Any suggestions?

I really appreciate the help fro all of you Blackberry Gurus out there.

I know they are completley different models, but I had the same problem on my 7250, from what the Bell guy told me on the phone, I had to go into the profiles -> Show Tunes -> then there is a "Volume" option, that you have to set as "High" as well as your profile being set on "High". I don't know if it will work for you seeing as how you have a very differnet model, but it fixed it right up on mine.

Good Luck, let me know how it pans out.

Thanks for your reply. I did go to tunes but it was set on high already. I did try to set it again, but have still the same problem.

Thanks again for your help.

It would help to know what OS you are running. It sounds like you have an early pre- OS .284 Blackberry which has a well-documented ringtone volume bug. If so the temporary solution is to make a phonecall on your Blackberry, go into Speakerphone mode, turn the speakerphone volume up to full and hang up. I know it doesn't seem to make sense but that will provide a temporaray fix until the next time you use the speakerphone and hangup with the volume at below full.

The better solution is to install an OS that fixed the bug like Bharti. Instructions are here. These instructions will also unlock the Zen theme and a few others. It's worth the effort to upgrade.

im having a similar problem.
i have a 7105t with OS 4.1.0.377 rogers (newest ver for the 7100 series).
3 days ago, a particular ringtones ring at low volume even when profiles is set at high. i also went into show tunes and set it at a high setting for all the tunes.

i use "notifier_lightspeed" for my msgs and it was loud until 3 days ago when i noticed the volume dropped on this tone and a few others.
other tones dont seem to be affected at all.

i also tried the speakerphone call, and hanging up at full voulme, but that didnt resolve the issue.

could this bug be caused by a 3rd party app?
i havent installed anything recently, but i do have a few 3rd party apps on my bberry. ie pocketday.
