Default BES v.4 upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

We are currently running BES v.4.1.6 on top of a windows 2003 server. And we are planning to upgrade to BES v.5.2 on top of new server which has windows 2008 server.
My question is, how can we do it?

I have a plane which will be the following:
1- Create new server 2008
2- Install v.5.2 trial version on this new server
3- User transporter tool to move the users to the new blackberry v.5
4- Take the license from old BES and activate the new BES v.5.2 with it. (I need a confirmation on this step)5- Retire the old BES v.4.1.6.

Please can you check the steps are it right? Or it will not work!

Sounds ok. Just check if you have an Enterprise license on the 4.1.6. If you have the SBE license it will not let you use it on 5.0.2 (asks for a trade-up key). Remember that you have to move the SRP key and the CAL.

You have to buy an upgrade so you are officially licensed for using BES 5. But we could just take SRP and CAL from 4.1.7 and use it on 5.0.

If you want a free upgrade, you have to go to BES Express 5.
