So they're just trying to get what they can before it becomes useless. Honestly, I've used BBSmart, and I hated it! Worthless. Well, at least to me.
Several things I think it is important to clarify:

The first is that native HTML email is only going to be available for the BlackBerry when you have the combination of the latest OS (and no, it's not 4.3) and the latest BES/BIS. Time for these to actually reach the market could be quite a while - especially the BES and BIS upgrades. And don't forget that there is a whole bunch of people out there who have never and will never perform an OS upgrade (most people don't even think of their BlackBerry as having an OS) and may not want to go out and buy the latest BlackBerry off the shelf as soon as it comes out.

Secondly, the original aim of this for me was to actually give away BBSmart Email Viewer free for a day. I had no prior knowledge at all that the "$5 buy from our store" requirement would be added in. That doesn't benefit me at all - it's their store, not mine, so I make approximately zero from this.

Thirdly, we don't charge for upgrades. This isn't a spin to giveaway a free copy and then charge for the upgrade that is coming out soon like others do. If you get the free copy now, you'll be entitled to the next upgrade for free just like everyone else.

Fourthly, the next upgrade of BBSmart Email Viewer is predominantly focused on adding in some big functionality independent of HTML email viewer. I'm doing this specifically so that BBSmart Email Viewer will continue to be a very useful email tool when people do eventually get the native HTML email upgrade.

Overall, we're not IBM. We're a small company trying to make applications for a small market.

Even when native HTML email does become mainstream, this product will be out there, it's just going to have a slightly different name and a different focus. My aim is to pack in so much functionality with this next upgrade that it's still great value and completely worthwhile - so much so that you could even forget about the email viewing aspect and still be satisfied that you got a great deal.

Honestly, I think now is a great time to get in and pick up BBSmart Email Viewer. You are essentially securing a product for free which is only going to continue to grow and be more and more useful as time goes on, not less. And unlike other companies, we're never ever going to try and charge you for that.

Cheers,
eZainny.

eZainny, man, bring it on, upgrades, updates, and thanks for your upfront honesty!

Your product (and the other) filled a hole in BB email that no one else could touch.

Just a note to say thanks, eZainny. I, for one, appreciate the opportunity to get BBSmart free. Thank you for offering it.

eZainny, I'm trying to figure out what you're putting in there as an independent app? Can't wait to see it; love your current version.

Quick question - does the release version that'll be offered tomorrow support using the builtin fonts on the BB devices (i.e. BB Millibank Tall)?

Forgive my ignorance as I'm an (ongoing) EMV beta tester and have only installed/tested BBSmart once awhile ago - are y'all saying that it doesn't have this feature yet at all, and you've been waiting for it?

(like you guys it's a deal killer for me, I *love* BB Millibank Tall)

Hi DW30,

Make sure that you add BBSmart Email Viewer to the shopping cart along with the other item(s) that you want to buy and then apply the code. When you do this you will see the price of BBSmart Email Viewer change to $0

Cheers,
eZainny.

A long story short:

ww w.blackberryforums.com (started first)

ww w.blackberryforums.pinstack.com (see any similarities?)

Regardless, it went downhill from there.
Here's where the problem started:
Blackberryforums.com offers to buy Pinstack.com. Offer declined - PinStack.com

There's also:
blackberryshop.pinstack.com
blackberryfaq.pinstack.com

Most people know a sub-domain simply describes the content of that site area. It's blackberry forums not iphone forums or Nokia forums but blackberryforums.pinstack.com.

Are you saying someone besides RIM owns the word BlackBerry? Then read the above link.

and pinstack is the larger site...hands down. double the size.
so wonder who's leaching now?

That link doesn't work.

Regardless, let's keep this on topic re: BBSmart.
