i have had this fone for 1 day and that enufff for me !!!!

8 hours of trying to load gmail...haha no way !!! need a service book from 3uk, so i googled it and fouNd the site......

To register:

1. In the Application list on your device, click Options, or click Settings Options.

2. Click Advanced Options > Host Routing Table. (THIS IS NOT IN THE MENUS)

3. Click the Menu key and click Register Now. (THIS IS NOT IN THE MENUS)

If the error persists, contact your wireless service provider.


ALSO TRIED TO UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE VIA OFFICIAL SITE AS ANY SUGGESTIONS HERE WERE NOT COMPATABLE WITH DEVICE.

IT DEMANDS I SUBSCRIBE TO THE BLACKBERRY SERVICE (AT COST) JUST TO GAIN THE LATEST VERSION !!!! xxxxING RIPP OFF

Yes. You must have a blackberry data plan to get push email.
And yes, you need a blakcberry data plan to upgrade to OS 5.

But you should have had a blackberry data plan from the beginning if you wanted to use email on a blackberry.

thats rather strange with an 8520. it was a pretty simple device for me to configure.usually if you just open your browser on your bb and go to google(this must be done from your phone)and you will see www.m.google.com its a mobile google search engine and you can download mobile google,google maps,and gmail pretty seamlessly

Curveman, the OP does not have a data plan, that is why they are encountering these problems and therefore not being able to set up the way it worked for you.
