I saw in an article about the 5.0 OS update that the SMS would look like this:

What carrier do you have? I dont have a option for that view on either my Verizon Tour 9630 or my Verizon Bold 9650. I assumed it was an option view thing but dont see it. I do have the thread view but it doesnt look like the image i posted above.

Yeah, and it SUCKS, as does the other mode. I want the old mode back, each SMS in it's on entry, just like e-mail does. May be returning a 1-day old phone over this.

This is an OS 5 issue. Uses wanted threaded SMS and RIM implemented, but did not give one the option of the old way. Only way to change is to go to a pre-OS 5 operating system. Catch-22: the 9650 has to run OS 5.

It takes some getting used to, but once you do, you will never want to go back to the old way.

Threaded SMS was the reason I ever wanted OS 5.0... was relieved when it finally came out. Even the Treo I had 4 years ago had threaded SMS

I think it would have been good to give the option to view it either way. What works best depends upon how you use SMS. For me, I think the old way was better but I'm okay with the new one -- just liked the old one better. I'm not a high volume text user and I can see where someone who sends lots of texts and carriers on a lot of conversations via txt might prefer threaded conversations.

I'll trade you a 9630 with os4.x that has non-threaded SMS for a new 9650
