tell the police your blackberry was stolen, and perhaps you should hang out in safer places.

No, they can't. Call your carrier and inform them.

*Moving to General Discussion, not sure why it's in the 8800 forum*

You BB could be tracked but no one will do it or cares. You have not talked to the police yet or you would know they do not care. You have waited at least 4 hours now to file this police report, according to your post times, what is going on?

File a police report, be glad the guy did not kill you and move on with life.

I hope this was a 8800 that was stolen as you posted it here!

First of all, call your carrier and terminate your service. A thief may not be competent enough to know how to use your blackberry but he could figure rather quickly how to make international phone calls from it- or he can just remove sim card and dump the device.

With SIM card, just like with credit card, frist notify about the theft the company that provided you with it.

Well, you definitely shouldn't first go online and ask people when something is stolen. There isn't too much you can do as ppl have said above. Lots of cell phones are stolen and they do not have the time to track each and every one. If you didn't have a insurance plan with your phone you might be out of luck. I always have insurance on expensive phones for that reason.

Why didn't you grab something like a lead pipe and let him have it? That was too easy of a robbery without even a weapon. But hey.....at least you're ok.

I am sorry about your blackberry, I glad your okay though.

Everyone is right, let your carrier know, they can give you your options.

LMAO at that one.
Keyholder......That would delay the robbery and probably provoke violence.
