Default I saving up to get a storm 2 9520

Please Login to Remove!

I'm on At&t and talked with them about adding a bb data plan to my 2nd line they said that's all I'd need is to get the BB data plan. I was wondering about getting the Storm 2 9520 from vodaphone. Has anyone here in the us done that am I correct in that if a buy their unlocked version I could get it to work on At&t? I mainly would like to do that because I don't want the VZ navigator app on my phone. Most of the ones I check on amazon are verizon and I'm trying to avoid them maybe I'm selfish but even so could I?

Ok I bit the bullet as it were and got a 9550 it's not the model that I was after but after it's unlocked it should work. Ok next question I got BB data plan added to the phone line that I will use the phone on, so all I need to do then is put the ATT Sim card that's tied to my phone number into phone after it is unlocked right. Then follow the guide stickied to the top of the 9500 forums for getting it to work on the ATT system right?

You might want to really look into the storm or any blackberry for that matter. I purchased a storm and have all my e-mail addresses on it and am able to sync it with MS Outlook. It's a great toy but unless you have the need for e-mail and a lot of internet, it's not worth the $30 data plan or whatever your carrier charges.

I am due for renewal in about 6 months and I think I'll be downgrading to a regular cell phone. We have 2 blackberry's in the house hold so that would be a savings of almost $60/month or $720/year. That's a lot of money in these days with the economy the way it is.

Just my opinion !!!!!

Back to the question asked by the OP.
The Storm 9550, if unlocked, will work on ATT.
If you follow the Sticky, you will be fine.
And, if questions come up, come back to this forum for the answers.
Good Luck!

Ok another quick question? I got the code typed it in and did the adjustment on the network ,gsm, 3G/2G then I exited back to the home screen. The home screen still says Activation required at the top and i see a antennae with the word SOS next to it in the top right corner where there normally is a up/down arrows representing the BB browser network connection is this ok? And if so then if I put in my At&t sim card that has my phone and BB data plan on will it work. Or did I miss a step?

I wanted to let you all know I appreciated the good info. It's now unlocked and it found EDGE I thought it would automatically say At&t to but it still says activation required. I have received calls to it and made calls from it sucessfully. Now I'm doing the last step which is following all the excellant info that is stickied up top to convert to At&t.

Thanks but I got another question I am trying to determine where I can type/find this " On the PC, go to C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\**your OS version**\Java." in my computer. I have Vista Home Premium and when I go to the search for the os I know I downloaded it last night I can't seem to find the Temporary file it created for the OS. Now I do see the BlackberryDevice Mgr and it says the current OS version of my storm2 model so i think that is it am I right? If I am then how do I get it to display the files so that I can remove the "Find the .cod named net_rim_bb_browser_daemon and move the cod to your new folder." Thing I'm such a nebie when it comes to finding stuff on my computer. Any advice would be appreciated.
