Default Event ID 680 for BIS users

Please Login to Remove!

Our BIS users have been configured to connect to our Exchange 2007 server via OWA on the BB devices. For these users, on our Hub & Cas Event log we are getting a lot of Log on failures with Event Id 680 and error code 0xC0000064. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution for it?

Check Google and search on "Event ID 680". I got a few hits, but you would be the best one to wade through them. From my quick read, it appears to be a Windows security issue and not a BB issue directly.

But it is only affecting users that are having BIS accounts.

At the time this was posted, the BIS upgrade was in progress. Could that be the cause?

Dd you search via Google and read my post? According to what O read, this is typically a Microsoft Exchange issue, not a BB problem.

Could be a BIS 3 issue also as it concerns security.

RIM has a lot of listings for Event ID's that relate to the performance of the servers. I added just one but you might try reading some of the various items they list and maybe one will help.

From RIM

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server initiates Messaging Application Protocol Interface (MAPI) threads with the messaging server. A request that is not acknowledged by the messaging server within 10 minutes, a time equal to one health check, results in a blocked thread. Blocked threads might indicate that Microsoft Exchange is unable to respond.

Note: While a BlackBerry Enterprise Server restarts, blocked threads might occur for one or two health checks. Blocked threads that continue for more than three health checks may indicate a problem.

Once the MAPI threads enter a non-responsive state it is possible that the threads will not be released; all MAPI threads used by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will then be locked. Since the BlackBerry Enterprise Server affects multiple mail boxes and has a finite number of available MAPI threads, issues with network connectivity or Microsoft Exchange performance are usually noticed on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server before Microsoft Outlook.

Where can I find the RIM listings for Event ID's that relate to server performance?
And we have been getting these messages in the event viewer for quite sometime now so I don't think they are related to the BIS upgrade.
