Well I can't stand to read through the 62,874 useless messages over there, but I decided to take the leap and try .114. Mainly because .109 had gotten so bad for me; battery was draining like crazy, memory leak (among other things). Strange since .109 had started off fairly well for me but got progressively worse over a couple of weeks time.

What's sad is here it's almost 4 months after launch and Storm owners are still having to deal with crappy OS. I can assure of of this: if it wasn't for leaks, this storm would be in the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico by now. Hoping it gets better soon or this turd will be replaced with an 8900 once my local carrier gets it (Cincinnati Bell Wireless).

I hear this is worse than .112 but there is a hybrid of it either out now or about to be released that fixes all of the issues.

Facebook works well, no issues.

I don't see the phone app keyboard issues either, that I read all the inmates at CB screaming about. I guess they must have gotten the bad version of .114

.112 worked find here also. I had some EDGE radio issues on reboot, but they cleared up pretty quickly each time.

I don't see any real differences in .112 and .114 except the change from Landscape to Portrait view is slower.

Yea, .109 was pretty bad over time, but initially it was like magic...but I'd say after .109 bombed my battery life and I rolled back to .75, its not THAT bad considering typing isn't as responsive and still buggy with kb disappearing if i type too fast (which is annoying) and the memory is quite stable...aside from these setbacks, .75 is decent...a good, stable build which does not warrant a toss in the gulf...

the Storm is a work in progress, i guess its a phone for patient bb users...certainly not newbies...I'd agree on that point but if you think a 8900 will have a better OS, think again (hint: ask a bold user - 8900 is headed in that direction IMO)

but me, I'm staying away from .114 until an official release is made (fingers crossed +soon+)

horrible memory leak in .114..... went from 47MB to 38MB in 3 hours while in holster, with no usage.

Hope a new version leaks soon or ill be back to .109

The copy/paste selection tool doesnt help either. I could definately live without it.

Wirelessly posted

I can also confirm the screen flip problems.

Also, a big problem I have is while on a call when I try to bring up the keypad it will only give me the SureType keyboard and won't let me switch it. Therefore, I can't check my voicemail. Albog those lines, my voicemail. P longer goes to my YouMail account, but I think I know what I did to break that.

See I'd say the opposite. I've had a BB before so I know what they can and are supposed to be like. If the Storm was my first one I wouldn't know any better. I will agree with you that it's a phone for patient users. Now patience may be a virtue, but it ain't one of mine...and I'll admit it. How I've lasted this long is beyond me. More than once I've thought of going back to my Pearl or getting a Curve.

You may be right about the 8900; I don't know. I've kind of kept an eye on the 8900 threads to see if there's been as many problems with it as there have been with the Storm. Haven't thought so...but I could be wrong. And, I know of exactly zero Bold owners personally-just what people post here.

Bottom line..this is supposed to make my life easier, and right now it's making it more difficult!

Just now installed it. I'll be putting it through its paces over the next couple of nights.

Any Info on .113 or .114 what's the best?
pros - cons?

AFAK storm and 8900
I recently decomissioned my old Berries 8310 and 8320
and Bought 8900 and Storm
these two are BB's sure... but from a whole different world
storm great for surfing big websites, watching movies, writing and reading large emails, documents, texts, excel sheets, powerpoint pdf etc etc etc
curve more like a road warrior where you want to do something fast/patchy - just to get your work done till you get to office/home close to your storm(?) that's It
(wifi is a big GO for a device and thankfully curve has one)

Well, so far it's slower than my beloved .103. The accelerometer is painfully slow, but no instant messenger freeze-ups yet.

Trying to figure out this new copy/cut thing.

Wow, almost 24 hours and only one page worth of feedback. I'm guessing that's a good sign.

Installing now. Maybe with the euro official release, we're nearing in on a U.S. official version. *fingers crossed*

Are these the perks of being a mod? Get the good stuff and give us the crappy versions? :p
