Hello,

I had a problem while updating my Bold 9000. The Desktop manager is stuck on the "wait for device initalization" step even though the Blackberry handheld has been turned on. It won't proceed to the "restore device data" step, so now my contacts, messenger history, and emails, are all gone.

Is there any way to fix this? The device is still connected, but I've tried restarting it several times after the program said it can not connect (despite it never being disconnected since the update started).

I've attached a screenshot below for reference.

Yes, I am aware this should normally take that long. But it failed the first time (before I did any restarting) so I started to get worried that something wrong might have happened.

Edit: After 30 mins, it says the following error: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device. You may need to enter the password on the device," despite the device being turned on and showing the main home tscreen.
