BB Browser and BES

Our BES is set up to direct all http traffic to our proxy servers to authenticate before going out the the internet. I get prompted for proxy authentication just like I would expect but when I fill in the information it and click ok the proxy logs show that only the first character of the username is being sent to the proxy server which causes authentication to fail. Has anyone else seen this or know how to fix this?
