Default Access to internal web site not possible??

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I'm an idiot when it comes to BES and most of the time I can find my way around, but I can't figure this one out. Hope someone can help.

I'm working with a client that needs to access an internal web site from the browser on the BB. However, most of the BB's can't access this specific site. The browser just sits there "requesting" and eventually times out. Out of 50, only 2 can access the internal site - the others can't.

So I'm wondering where and what I need to check on the BES server. I poked around a little in the IT policies but couldn't find anything obvious. There's only one IT policy... Default.

All BB's can access external sites like google etc. The internal site in question is a basic html page with no authentication.

BES is 4.1 for GW. BB's are all 8800's and 8300's.

Any ideas? Thank guys!

Is the Blackberry OS level for the two who can access it different than the other users? Can you access this site on your BB? Is there another internal site you can have your users check? Have you tried restarting MDS Services? Do the users have a strong signal when trying to connect to the site? If their signal strength is not between 40-99 that could be causing an issue. BES 4.1 - which service pack of 4.1 is running? Look at the BES logs - you can find these in --> Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs --look for any errors in the MDSS logs, You may want to have the users delete the IPPP service book and then resend it to your users - the IPPP service book is used for web browsing. You may want to enable HTTP logging in the MDS Connection Service.

Also the web browser needs to be set for the "blackberry browser" rather than the "internet browser" in order for it to see the internal network.

I expect this may be because of the BlackBerry browser not being selected on inside of the BlackBerry's browser options as previously mentioned.

Any update for us? Also, if you were to check for errors in web browsing, it would be in the MDAT log files, not MDSS.
