Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if the BlackBerry 8830/8830e is coming to Canada. If so, when?

Will Bell Mobility carry this model?

Thanks for any information.

Pentarus,

This is great news!! Especially since BELL MOBILITY is notorious for being so slow when it comes to bringing out the new models.

Will definitely be getting it.

Rockdamic,

Have you been able to get more info about the BB 8830e release date? Do you know when it will be officially released by BELL MOBILITY. Thanks.

Does anyone have any info of which countries BELL/Telus Mobility have on roaming GSM/GPRS/EDGE partners? Surely non in Canada as I doubt seeing CDMA providers wanting to give MORE $$ to Rogers, hehe.

Quad band - because it's a "world phone" blackberry.

I think this will be an awesome device. Hopefully Telus gets it as well, I hear sometime in Q2 like Bell.

Yeah...I'm waiting for this one as well...wonder how that trackball will feel compared to the trackwheel...
Regardless, I'll snap it up the moment VZW makes it available...
I reside in Canada part of the time, so am also interested to see if any Canadian carriers will offer it in black...

Quad band because it has 850 and 1900 mhz CDMA and 900 and 1800 GSM. Just like all the other CDMA/GSM world phones it only supports CDMA in north america.. The only exception to this is the nextel i930 which was IDEN with GSM 900, 1800, 1900 included. Thus in the America's you had a choice between IDEN and GSM once it was unlocked.

I heard mid-June, so it sounds like mid-summer is a good bet; based on the other info above.

Can anyone tell me what the benefit would be of this model over the Pearl? I need to replace my 7250, and like the features of the Pearl (voice dialing, camera, polyphonic ring tones, etc), but I know that the Pearl is only available in Canada through Rogers, and I am currently with Bell Mobility. I'd prefer to stick with Bell, but not if I can't find a unit that I like the features on.

The main differences are the 8803e won't have a camera but it will have a qwerty key board.
