Default Telstra NextG capable Blackberry

For those Australians out there - I've heard that a NextG capable Blackberry will be released in Australia during March 2007. No details on what model it will be.

For those outside of Australia wondering what NextG is, it's Telstra's 3G (& HSPDA) network running on 850MHz

I can guarantee you that it will not be out by March.

Now if one is to come out on 3G on 850, what is stoping it from also appearing at Cingular?

given the limited use of blackberry in Australia, it would have to be like likes of Cingular pushing for the 850 capable unit.

How many other 3G 850 networks besides Telstra and Cingular are there?

Rogers have 850mhz UMTS also. But don't forget, RIM will not be making an 850mhz only device. They will be making a multiband UMTS device which can be used on 2100mhz too. This new device can also be an upgrade to the 8707 in that respect.

Also, BlackBerry in Australia is not as limited as you think.
