Correct. DM will ask you if you want to replace your current os with the older one. Pretty easy!

I got the new O2 installed along with the Blackberry.alx. I'm glad that ringer problem is fixed, was getting way too many missed calls. Nothing impressive as far as the themes go. I like the Vodaphone them except it is slow and the color is kind of ugly. I have the Orange theme on at the moment, but that might change.

The old Zen theme changed a bit that had the Call Log, Messages, etc on the home page. A different one is in it's place.

Replace the one that is found there after you install the new OS with the one from my original post. That will enable/load the other carrier's themes (Cingular, O2, Vodaphone, etc.) so you can use 'em...

i dont see anything called loader files on my computer. i see only apploader files. after i click on that, i see this:

can you point out where else this .alx can be located?

or should i just move the alx file from page 2 to the apploader folder?

My Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files/8100-v4.2.0.64_P2.2.0.37 is where my .alx file is. Just use the one posted on the forum boards and replace the existing one.

Just connect to the network as if you were going to open Outlook (or whatever you use) and check your email. THEN plug in your BB and open Desktop Manager. If asked, choose the email profile that corresponds to your email account. Once Desktop Manager starts give it a couple of minutes and activation should start on it's own. If it doesn't then try regenerating the encryption keys by going to Email Settings, Security, Generate keys manually->Generate. Give it another couple minutes. If that still doesn't start the activation then call your BB IT person and he/she will set you up with a password to do it OTA.
Just as a quick note, the OTA activation can only be done on a BES version 4.0 or later. If you've got a BES version prior to 4.0, then wired (connected via USB cable) activation is the only way to go.

Download it from the T-Mobile site, install it to your PC and use DM to install it. Just like you did with .64. What happened that makes you want to go back?

Going back to .42 is the exact same way as upgrading to .64

You know that you can load your modified .alx file into .64 and not downgrade back to an older OS right? Just download the modified .alx file from the forum boards (as it's been posted) once that's done then right click on it then choose copy. Then go to:

My Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files/8100-v4.2.0.64_P2.2.0.37 and then right click again and choose paste. It will ask say the file exists do you wish to replace? Say yes and then after that open your desktop manager program and it will update.

This has all been posted before also.

Just wondering if .64 is supposed to be an update, why doesn't T-Mo have it yet?

When will they catch up?

i there is a bug on this version:

if your phone is in STANDBY mode (hold down the mute button to put it there) and you receive a call, you cannot always answer. i can successfully repeat this issue.

anyone else getting this problem. i can only answer about 25% of the time when its like this.
