You will have to wait for T-Mobile to enable it.
Even if the software and hardware are there, the have disabled it at a network level.

But I have GSM unlocked the phone, and I am using a German Vodafone SIM card, that is roaming in the USA over AT&T, and I can send+receive calls with it. Plus I have also upgraded to this newest OS.

How does T-Mobile enter into the equation at this stage? Other than the T-Mobile splash logo when I power-up the phone, I do not see any other trace of that carrier on my device.

If other carriers have NFC enable on this specific phone, they must be a way to enable it with T-Mobile. If hacking tools exist to replace the splash logo, that indicates that there are parts of firmware not touched by the OS change, which can be modified by other means. Perhaps another tool can enable NFC, other than the OS change.

You may want to look at one of the more hacker friendly forums.

OMG...installed .540 and b4 +14%/hour....today 1.9% / hour. We will have to see how the next few days goes.

Why do some folks suggest a few battery pulls the first few days?

Some people swear that it takes a few battery pulls to get your battery fully calibrated with your device.

Sure, anytime almost. I wouldn't do it if your battery level was too low, then you may not have enough power to fully cycle. You could always top it up at night, and when you wake up, pull the battery. I know a few that do it every morning out of habit.

I will usually do a soft-reset about once a week. I have the Defender, so batt pulls are a pain.

Yeah I'm now finding I'm forgetting about charging my battery until it's way down low 2 days later.

Loving this release.

A complete newbie question - will installing this version in a country where this version is not launched yet void the warranty?

I did the "vendor.xml" deletion part but this is what I am getting - The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"

BlackBerry - Desktop Software for Mac

Do not think you will be able to update to a leaked OS, but the link will give you DM for MAC, not even sure if you can back-up and restore with this version.

Hope it helps, but you should probably find a PC or laptop that you can install the OS and DM on, then upgrade.

All - Been having a strange probelm with previous release - All my keys stopped working and battery pull did not always resolve the probelm. Touch screen would still work but none of the keys would work at all. I did notice random n's and m's in text fields and the mouse button (for lack of a bettter word) would make sounds but I would not see any movement.

I was doing a FW update to see if it solves the problem.

Nope - Did not get wet - I have seen reference to this exact same problem on other boards stating that a battery pull resolved the problem - On mine sometime battery pull worked other times if I waited about 30 mins, it would start working again.

Very strange

I did the upgrade last night and everything seems to be working fine. I don't know what would have caused the key issue.
