Default dumb question

My wife has a Bold 9700 with an older version of OS 5. Any benefit to upgrading to OS 6.0.0.668? Is there anything I need to know other than downloading 6.0.0.668, installing it, deleting vendor.xml and running loader.exe?

I am asking because I have never done a full version upgrade before, just the incrementals. I just recently went from a Storm2 9550 to a Bold Touch 9900 so the jump was made for me.

In my opinion, OS 6 runs like absolute crap on the 9700. It will also eat up a bunch of your available device memory.
Don't even bother with it. Stick with OS 5.

IMHO, if the device works as she needs it to work and does what she wants it to do, it is not broken and therefore, does not need to be fixed with an OS update, even to OS 6.

I agree with Penguin. Read through the 9700 section and see what our members have to say about the 9700 running OS 6.

point taken. it does work as she likes it and i have tried a 9700 that had os 6 on and it did seem sluggish. going to keep it at os 5 until the contract is up in a year.
