Default 9810 Keyboard flaky since OS update.

Please Login to Remove!

Just got the phone yesterday and it has been working fine. Did the OS update today and now the top row of keys is not working reliably. Sometimes E and O does not respond at all, or I get several.

Could it be related to the update, or more likely flaky hardware? Since I just got it, I don't want to go through replacing it all over again. Especialy since my supplier had a hard enough time finding this 9810.

You indicate you "replaced the phone" so unless your provider gave you a new phone which is highly doubtful, the phone is defective. An OS update normally does not cause this but if your willing, revert back to the OS you had. You did use the 9810 OS i hope.

Fixing what ain't broke always is a mistake and this applies to OS updates also. You dont always need the latest.

Thaks for the reply. The problem seems to have stopped on its own. So at least my vendor has it on record that the phone had a problem. Since they had to do a lot of searching to find this phone, they are unlikely to be able to find me another one anyway and I'm tired of swapping phones. So we'll leave it at that.

At for fixing what ain't broke, that wasn't the case. Like my computers, when I get a new phone, I always start with the latest and greatest. So I get the latest patches, app updates, etc. After that I tend to leave it alone.

I agree in that the latest isn't always the greatest and sometimes updating causes issues we didn't have to begin with ... but I always wipe a new device and start with a fresh install.

Besides, I'm kinda an update junkie. lol
