Smile AT&T pricing is the same

AT&T also offers the 9700 for $149.00. But not as good a deal as T-Mobile. You get an instant(instore)rebate of $50.00 then a mail in for $100.00 but still nets to $149.00. Pretty good deal but I'll stay with my Bold 9000 for now..

Default Website updated

Order via phone or visit a corporate store. You'll have to pay the upgrade fee ($18 and change), and appropriate sales tax on the full retail price of the phone. Still, you should be able to get out the door for around $200 or less.

It says that there's now a $50 rebate on the full price version now too (bringing it to $399.99). Since I bought it less than 2 weeks ago (still on my trial period), will they credit me back the $50 since I paid the full $450?

Interesting they're already going $149.99. Must be weaker volume than they were thinking, but they did a poor job marketing it.

Just got back from the store and I got my $50 off on the phone. They returned the phone and then purchased it again on my account, took about 10 minutes.

Now I'm going to send an old Nextel 7510 in for a $75 rebate that they've expanded to cover the 9700! Check out the information on that here:

Yeah, took 10 minutes at the local store this morning to price match. I was pretty happy that they did it. Also, it's only a three day sale, according to the guys at the store. YMMV.

Snagged mine last night! Coming from an 8900 I did notice the speaker seems a bit weak compared to the 8900. Maybe a future OS fix will correct this issue (others have reported same).

I actually found the 8900's pretty weak (coming from an 8320), and think the 9700's sounds considerably better, and doesn't distort as much at volume.

I concur!

Speaker is not as loud, headset and speaker phone. Though phonecall speakerphone is considerably quieter than speaker music.

So my guess, OS will prob beef up the audio. But I still believe the speaker on the 8900 is louder overall.

Also I heard sale is good till the 29th.

Can you get a Blackberry purchased in the US to work in a different country?

Is there a sim card lockout etc?

Just to determine if this is related to variations in the manufacturing process, here's my phones build info (found on outside of box):

Default TMO website says $199 today

was $149 yesterday. Discovered when I called for credit and they declined $50 credit because they said price is $199. Sux!

Is there anybody that has a screenshot from the weekend that shows the full price version for $399 ($449 - $50 instant discount)?

I called yesterday when the price was active and the CSR noted it on my account, but since I bought it in-store, she said I had to come into a store to show I paid full price and then they would credit it.

I went in today and even though it has the note on my account, the new CSR that the store called claims that no such price ever existed and that the full price version was never discounted. She says she called the Website department and they confirmed that the non-contract price has always been $449.

I hope someone here can help and e-mail me a screenshot/printout today, that would be great, so I can go to the store before they close at 7:30pm and get my money back. Otherwise, today being the 14th day of my trial, with all the provisioning issues I've also had, it looks like I'm gonna return the phone, scrap T-Mobile and end up getting it for AT&T.

Thanks in advance!!
