Default BES 4.1 post SP4 question: Java

Please Login to Remove!

For the past few days my BES server shows on the bottom-right a pop-up telling me that there's a new Java release available, click here to install it. Everything is running fine, so I'm scared to fix what's not broken. What should be the Java release for the latest BES?

Background:
When we were running BES 4.1.3 Add/Remove programs showed "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9".
During the installation of SP4 I remember seeing a message that 5.11 was needed and it was going to install it. After the SP4, Add/Remove, in addition to 5.09, also shows "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11".
Ah, we also have MDS Services installed, not that we need it, but I think we will in the near future.
Regards,

DO NOT UPDATE IT
DO NOT UPDATE IT
DO NOT UPDATE IT
DO NOT UPDATE IT

Repeat after me: "I will disable the Java automatic update on my BES and I will not update it when it wants me to update it. I will only update it when RIM (or some other trusted BlackBerry source) tells me to."

Java changes from version to version. BES requests a specific version ... give it that specific version; nothing else.

Well, I always set Java to "not auto-update too"...

But a few weeks ago I came across a BES that this hadn't been turned off on and needed to get MDS Connection to recognise a self-signed certificate.

When Java auto-updates it seems to put a whole new directory down and leaves the old one there. I found that I needed to use the keytool, cacerts and keystore in the oldest Java directory (the one installed by the BES install) not the ones that Java auto-update had installed later - which is reassuring I guess.

(I'll still continue to turn off Java auto-update though!)

Like Ugg has said, if you need to install security certificates, you're going to keep yourself busy re-installing them every time you do another Java update. If you are ahead of RIM on the Java version you are running, its the first thing they will tell you to downgrade before they even try to do anything else. While I've never had any problems running the newer versions, I've learned to stay in step with RIM if you want any kind of support from them.
