I don't know if its the OS or what but my Tour has faired poorly with Viigo in general, whereas the 8330 did very well.

I'd put my bets on the Tour, wonder if Viigo is aware of such a problem.

I had to delete Viigo and all the Viigo modules from my Tour before I was able to successfully install this lite version. It seems to run a bit more smoothly than previous versions.

As for syncing with an online RSS...it already syncs one way w/ Google Reader and I asked @RuddockMH about dual sync and got the response: @mikesstein we've been looking at this for some time ... I agree, it would be powerful ... lots of work though

Sounds like its in the pipeline. What I'd really like to see is an option that automatically downloads full texts for certain feeds. I know this would probably drain the battery a bit quicker and pull more memory, but it would be worth it.

I thought this was the "lite" version? It comes up as version 2.2.82
on my BB.

The new Lite (v .454) has solved all of the issues that I reported with the initial of Viigo Lite... it seems much faster and, as Adam says, runs much better. My Bold loves it. I was so pleased I even contacted Mark Ruddock to thank him for the fixes.

As Dobie Gillis used to say "good stuff, Maynard".

It does run a lot nicer then the full blown version. I wish we could browse the Viigo feeds via a website instead of only on the BlackBerry

Well at least you can collect your feed sites via the website. I think you should complain to Ahmad. .

I just switched to Arr! SS and have found it to be wonderful! ... It syncs two way with Google Reader and it was only $1.99 from Blackberry Cool's site. I was until today a faithful viigo user, however the bloat and unnecessary features were too much for me. Arr! SS has my vote!

I just downloaded the free version of Arr! SS to check it out. It doesn't appear to have the functionality to download 'full text" like Viigo can--it can only open the site in the browser. Is this the case or am I missing something?

What version are you using? I just downloaded 1.5.1 and don't see any way to use/sync with Google Reader feeds. The product Web site refers to that functionality in a future version.

Default Viigo Lite

Hi everyone,

After previously using the full version of Viigo (3.0.892), I decided to try Viigo Lite since mostly all I used it for was News & RSS. I downloaded the latest version (3.1.454).

The application is quick for showing the initial part of the message but I find when I select the option to show the full text that it is VERY slow. I checked the network and connection settings and it currently reads the following:

Connection Type: Auto
Current Connection Type: Blackberry Internet Service

I then went to the "WAP" settings and found that the "other" box was checked and the "Access Point" was set for blackberry.net , the Gateway IP was blank and the Gateway Port had a 4 digit number in it.

After continuing to have a very slow experience I tried to change the WAP settings but nothing really changed. To make matters worse it didn't help the speed and when I tried to change it back to the original WAP settings I received an error message because it was forcing me to put something in for the Gateway IP even though this was previously blank.

I am a Sprint customer using the Blackberry curve 8330. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I might do to improve the timeframe for retireving the full article as well as what the Gateway IP address should be under the WAP settinsg?

The other thing I found that was strange was that under the WAP settings it listed all of the US carriers with the exception of Sprint. I started to think that may have been part of the problem as instead of having a Sprint option the current connection type simply read "Blackberry Internet Service"

Sorry for the long message but I am pretty confused at this point

Thanks

I would pay for an app that syncs with Google Reader. Was hoping the Viigo Lite would but it doesn't :(. Google Reader mobile sucks but will have to do for now. I'm uninstalling Viigo Lite...

What is the current version of Viigo Lite, is it 3.1.454 or 3.1.448?

I installed Viigo Lite in the morning and I was pleased to see the huge improvement over the usual version I've uninstalled months ago because it was leaking my RAM. But then reading you guys here, I remembered about the browser/mobile version of Google Reader ( I even had a bookmark!) of which I had forgotten about! So i deleted Viigo again (with Blackberry you can't never say you have too much RAM) and I'll use the browser Google Reader version for RSS-it's perfect!

I haven't found an issue with Viigo News/Lite yet, reminds of the first Viigo from over a year ago. Very smooth running app, definitely going in the right direction again!
