Hi all... just got a work BB Torch. Now I need to transfer info etc. All I want to transfer is my contacts ONLY. I dont want my SMS and all other info/ pics transfer from my Bold to Torch. How would I do that? I am also having some issues with my Desktop Manager as well! Arrrr...

What problems are you having with DM?

Sync the old BB to out look or Google Contacts. Sync the new BB to Outlook or Google Contacts.

Or use the Switch Device Wizard in DM.

I second the Google recommendation. I started using GoogleSync several years ago and can't recall the last time I used Outlook to sync. I do back up to the mac at home just in case, but I love Google sync for contacts and calendar.

Just bought a torch off of Ebay. I wanting for it to come in. Trading my 9700 for this phone. Any comments good or bad. I like the 9700 but like a lot of people I wanted the ease of the touch screen with the use of my hands on qwerty key board. Did I choose wisely? I have heard good and bad about the Torch but choose to make go of it.

Another way to transfer data between devices. Rim just released a new free app called Blackberry Protect. It's available on App World. Allows you to locate your device if lost. Also does regular wireless backups and will allow you to lock and/or wipe the device if it's gone for good. It also has a switch device function.

Note that it doesn't work if you're on BES as many of the functions are already available (except for locate) to those users.
