7100 Email through Address book problems ACT and OUTLOOk

Newbie BB user here.
I have 2 new 7100s one for myself and girlfriend.
I have synched one with Outlook 2003 and one with ACT 6.0. Both have synched fine with one problem. When I click on the contact and select (Email Matt Dollinger) the message is sent, but not delivered. After an hour it will come back undeliverable. HELP!
