Does anyone know what the error codes are when connecting to UMA. I get a error code under wifi diagnistics when trying to connect.

It should say the text version under status right underneath. For example I am stuck with W006.2 -> "ISP or T-Mobile Network error." The codes simply seem to increment as it is W006.1 when it is first trying to establish the connection.

While trying to figure out my connection issues, I figured out the I got the W006.1 error when the port 500 isakmp packets were not getting returned to my phone. Once I allowed those packets through, I got the W006.2 error. Then when I allowed the port 4500 (non500-isakmp) packets through, I was able to connect UMA corrcetly, and receive phone calls.

I'm getting W005.3 ISP error. Retry. And it toggles between trying to get an uma connection and fails. Sometimes it will connect and hold on to uma for like 30 seconds and then fails and goes back to cellular coverage. Any input on how to fix this b/4 i return to store? Also how did you allow udp port 4500 to work on your router? Where did you find that setting?

how to i 'ALLOW' those ports to recieve/send data. what do i do on my phone to fix that. im having the same problem. No open networks work for me.

It's not on the phone. It's the router/firewall on the network you are connecting to.

To quickly rule out a problem with the Phone swing by a Staurbucks or any T-Mobile HotSpot. If you get UMA you know the problem is in your router.

keep in mind also if you switch from a pearl to a curve or other UMA device, when you restore to the curve it will delete the UMA feature as the pearl or other BB did not have it. Check T-Mobile support for the workaround, but basically you have to do a selective restore to the curve and leave out 2 or 3 policies. That will fix your issue completly.

I am also getting the error W006.1. the adobe troubleshooter does not tell you how to fix the problem, I need to allow the ports 500 and 4500 but i don't know how to do that... can anyone help?

Depends on what kind of router/firewall you have. Can you tell us if it's a Cisco, Netgear, DLink, Linux firewall?

Per LINKSYS tech support and RIM use the following values in your router:

DTIM: 2 (1-255)
Fragment Threshold : 2304 (256-2346)
RTS Threshold : 2304 (0-2347)
Beacon Interval : 50 (20-1024 ms)
Channel = 3 (or least used channel in your area)

This has solved many issues with failed UMA connections.

It worked great on my 8120; Ohh and I could only change the DTIM, Beacon, & Channel on my U.S. Robotics router. It is the settings that matter not the Brand/Model router or BB phone.
