I don't use BB Weather anymore but I seem to recall the lower case letter was the first initial of the city you were getting weather information for. Let us know if this is the case.

The 'city shortcut' keys that he uses (referenced in BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community - View Single Post - BBWeather Alpha Releases, above) are T and P.

I still think this is the keyboard shortcut for the weather app itself. With dial from home screen off, it works the same way as pressing L gets the calendar, or B launches the browser.

Like I said I no longer use the app but I seem to recall this lower case letter was the first initial of the forecast city. My home city starts with a "U" and I clearly remember that when I scrolled to that icon the text at the bottom of the screen said something like "54, Rain, u". Once you were in the app you could hit say a "P" for Pittsburgh or "W" for Washington, assuming you had set these cities up.

It's a matter of semantics, but in your example, 'u' is the "short cut key". It is not NECESSARILY the first letter of the city name - it's a single letter shortcut key that you can choose. And it functions as you describe - it's a shortcut for switching between cities that you have already configured (as well as the @GPS location in the later versions).

What the OP is referring to is displayed as (w) after the other text on the BB menu where the shortcut text is displayed. There are multiple options for BBWeather, Conditions, Conditions + Temp, Conditions + Time, Conditions + Temp + Time, Temp, Temp + Time and Update/Time... and the "(w)" is displayed at the end of the selected string - and it is the application shortcut - the single letter that launches the weather app when Dial from Home Screen is set to NO.

Like you, I don't have BBWeather installed on my BlackBerry any longer, so for me the (w) is displayed after my current weather app.
