is there a bumper case like the one for iphone 4 where it just wrapped around the edge of the 9700? i dont like making my 9700 thicker than it has to but at the same time want to protect phone's edge from dings and scratches. plus i like the leather texture on the back of the phone and dont want to cover it up. i could try to get a silicon skin and cut out the back but none look like it's tight on the phone. i dont think it would hold up and slip right off.

Thats the issue.
The iphone 4 is completely straight on the sides.
Blackberry's have curved sides, and more prominent buttons, you'd never get a gel case(with back cut) to stay on.

it doesnt have to be silicone. soft plastic/tpu or even hard plastic is fine too. something like the image below but the white part cut.

i really think the otterbox made my 9700 the perfect size, fit and grip. i really do miss that with my droid waiting on my seidio atm but to me the outterbox didnt add to much to the bulk but made the 9700 a very comfortable hold in hand.

I purchased one at an ATT store. A close wrap and easy to remove if necessary
