Hi All,

OK so I am currently in L.A for work and I am from the UK, on the O2 UK Network with the Bold.

I can see my roaming network is AT&T, although when I have a 3G connection, I cannot send SMS, only irracticaly, like once every hour??

When I move into an EDGE area it works fine?

Any suggestions?

I couldn't find an answer even though I searched. Also, if I switch to a 2g network, the bold still can't send out smses. thing is, shouldnt it be able to send out even if on a 3g network?

tried wiping, reinstalling and still cant send out on 3g network. get an error: sim toolkit error, does anyone have any ideas?

just thought I would share this: a friend of mine has a bold and was using a prepaid card so I switched sim cards with him. using his sim card on a 3g network, I could send out smses! He could send out smses using my sim card as well! weird for sure.

then when i put back my sim card, on a 3g network I couldn't send out smes, always the same, toolkit error. i tried turning off the data and same problem. on a gsm, edge or gprs, i can send out smses no problem. on 3g, data or no data, i can only receive not send out.

I have re-sent service books, re-registered on the network, wiped phone and reinstalled os and nothing works.

Does anyone have any idea as it is really frustrating to not be able to send out smses when I am on a 3g network.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same exact problem!
When I am overseas I can't send sms over 3G. my bold is at&t branded and unlocked
