Smile Question regarding LED

Please Login to Remove!

Hii, I got the BB 8800 and also the 8310 and both of them does the exact same thing. Lets say before I go to bed I get a text, my led will flash red and when i wake up the next morning (without looking at the texte message), its no longer flashing red but it flashes green. Why is that?

Interesting. I am bound to think that you have your coverage indicator turned on. Go into Options > Screen/Keyboard > and see if you have the Coverage Indicator LED on or off? If it is on, that is most likely what you are seeing. When the initial alert stops flashing, you are seeing the coverage indicator.

Yeah, sounds like your "LED Coverage Indicator" is turned on. Meaning your LED will flash green when you're in coverage. When you get a new message, the LED will flash red. The LED will only flash red for 15 minutes. After those 15 minutes have expired, it will revert back to green.

I am having a similar problem - I have my coverage indicator turned off though.

When I got up this morning my BB was not flashing red, I unlocked the phone and had 6 new messages (mixture of texts and emails).

I checked the profile settings and LED is set to flash as an alert. I have the latest 4.5 OS linked to from this forum.

Is the red LED only set to flash for 15 minutes then? Seems a bit strange.

Thanks.

That would be the same thing. The new message indicator is only set to flash for 15 minutes. It will turn off after 15 minutes of the last message or you looking at the message.

I agree with mcwilliams, I also would like that it keeps flashing till I have read the message. Is there a workaround for this, like a simple application ??

If you have your bb with you 15 min is good and if you don't you will look at the screen anyways when you do pick up your bb.
