Default Can't trasnfers files on my VZW 8830 to MicroSD card?

Please Login to Remove!

I finally put a MicroSD card in my 8830 because I wanted to transfer a couple ringtones off the device memory to the microsd but it won't let me. In addition it won't let me direct it to the SD card to be saved if I want to re download it...

Have you enabled the mass media storage option in the options?

Reformat the memory card on the phone itself through it's own interface.

I've done both of what you have replied with... Still doesn't want to let me move it to the SD card...

try mobiola studio ... it's got a free trial and is only $10 if you buy (I think) .. I have used it to encode videos and xfer to BB, but may be worth a shot to see if its your SW or something else

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

From my experience, I had to reformat the card from a reader in my desktop

It's either the phone card slot, the card itself, or the format of the card is wrong. Make sure it's FAT not FAT32 or otherwise. Format the card using the phone's interface if you have to, it's a menu option under Media Card under Options... Format Card. If that fails or if it doesn't work (used to reboot the BB with OS .66 if you tried to format a 2GB card) then you'll have to format the card in a card reader as FAT (not FAT32) and then put it back into the phone and it'll work as long as there's nothing wrong with the slot in the phone. BTW, does the phone say it's detected a card? Because if it doesn't then that's why it's not working for you. Make sure you put it in there right.

The phone detects the card just fine, I've got pictures and music on there that is recognized by the media program and comes up just fine. I'll try reformating to FAT on the computer if it's not already in that format... PS it's just a 1GB card
