Am I Crazy

I just purchased an unlocked Bold from fommy. Am I crazy or is this phone as good as everyone says? All I see on this forum are problems. Its not too late to cancel.

Does overnight shipping come with that cost from fommy? I looked on there briefly last night but the cost is higher than what I want to pay for a phone.

No, shipping was extra. It was more than I wanted to spend also, but I couldn't pull myself away. The phone looks great and with the uncertain release date I took the plunge.

100% worth it. The bugs that are being found relate directly to the OS, which is being updated pretty often. 147 has been the best for me so far.
The only thing I am left wanting that the phone cannot deliver (yet) is UMA/GMA. Great, great device.

Thanks. Feeling better already. 1.47 is the newest OS?
Anything else I should know?

No there are newer builds than .147, I tried them and had issues mostly with wifi. I have settled back on .147 and have no problems at this point.

.126 works well for me.
The only gripe is the "loading scripts" icon in the browser. So slow and annoying.

Question - there of course are some units on eBay that are new and are Rogers that are cheaper than fommy. I realize the non branded ones are risky, but what about the rogers ones. Why wouldn't one buy one there?

eBay, in general, is a scary proposition. If you do buy from a seller, look for pics of the device (with their seller name displayed), they have very high seller rating, and typically sell the type of device you are looking at.
I myself, bought from the Buy/Sell/Trade section on this site, and paid with PayPal to get extra protection.
Lastly, be sure there is a DOA policy in place that you agree with, and also get clarification on the device release type (pre-production vs retail). If you can get a purchase receipt, even better.

Totally agree with this, I bought mine (T Mobile Germany unlocked QWERTZ unit) from a reputable online store, but went to pick it up at their walk in store which is not too far from my house. I'm glad I did that, I had 2 tries, both had volume buttons that did not work, these were brand-new units, the third one works like a charm.
