i know that the IM system on t-mobile created by OZ uses texts instead of data. the problem is, when i go to t-zones ( i dont have data plan but i have service books for t-zones) and i click install instant messaging, it wont send service books for the IMing software because i am using a AT&T pearl 8110 unlocked on t-mobile network , not a t-mobile branded phone. is there any other way i can have instant messaging based on text instead of data? i have unlimited text and this seems like a good option for me

AT&T Pearl 8110? No such thing yet. Must be the 8100?

The reason it won't install is not because of the branding of the device or the OS you have loaded, it is simply because you don't have a data plan. No data plan, no service book for OZ. I don't know off-hand of another IM application that uses SMS, rather than data.

Why not get a data plan?... Tmobile is pretty cheap for unlimited data... Side note: how did you get unlimited sms?... I didn't think tmobile offered that... I pay something like $ 5 for 500...
