I've been looking 'round and 'round but don't seem 2 find any info on a BlackBerry 8900 edge but that is what my phone says it is. My son gave it 2 me after he bought himself another phone. So I shouldn't update 2 OS6? And, I don't seem 2 be able 2 find phone specific apps. I can find 8900 series just not edge. Some help in trying 2 determine what I've got. Please help out tks.

There's no such thing as an "8900 Edge". It's just an 8900.
EGDE refers to the type of wireless data network that you're connected to.

OS 6 is not available for the 8900, nor will it be.

There should be an icon for 'App World' on your device. You can use that to find and install compatible apps.

My advice is to get to know the device before you go trying to update the OS. And as penguin said above, OS 6 will not be offered for the 8900 series.

Do you have a BB data plan activated on your account?
