I just got the Bold and i downloaded the new BBM (not the leaked version) and I hate it .. I want to get the old BBM back but I dont know how to do it.. All of my information is backup on DM .. I dont know where to go from here .. PLEASE HELP !

You're gonna need to use the DM and select the add application option and then select it from there

I opened up DM and went to add/remove applications and theres 2 boxes.. the one on the right has the names of everything in my phone and the left one is blank .. so i dont know what to do next .. thank you so much

uncheck the box that is beside the BlackBerry Messenger and then click next. That will bring you to a window that says it will remove the messenger, continue and it will remove it and reboot the device. When it comes back up, repeat the process, but this time check the box beside the Messenger and it will reinstall the one for your OS.

oK SO I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED BBM FROM MY PHONE COMPLETELY AND NOW WHEN I GO INTO DM ITS NOT IN ANY LIST WHATSOEVER... DO U KNOW HOW TO DL BBM 4.6 FROM THE BEGINNING?

I think you might have overlooked it. The only way to get it is from the OS files installed on your computer, and if you were able to uncheck it to remove it, then check it again to install it. If not you need to download and install the latest OS for your device to get the BlackBerry Messenger.

whoa.. this has been posted a gadzillion times. i've done the downgrade several times.

1. back up your files. (which apparently you didn't do..)
2. plug your phone to the computer via the USB
3. Start DM.
4. DOWNGRADE your OS (and this should also have the option of downgrading your BBM)
5. let the computer do the needful
6. restore your files
7. and voila you have your BBM back.

I can't believe that people don't like the new BBM 5. It has all the features that I complained it lacked over the years, and now that its here and comparative to the other IM clients, people hate it. I guess when you get used to somethings, change is always bad.

I like it the new BBM 5 . I'm just saying, don't bash me.

kirrin, i love the newer official version. the beta was too buggy. anyway.. i like the new bbm, it's really good. it's got a few glitches but ahhh.. RIM will improve i hope! ;)

I like the new look but myself and another friend of mine with BOLD's have a delay problem. I'll send a message and it'll take 5+ minutes for the recipient to receive it.

That happened to me when I was running the leaked version.. but since then it's been working flawlessly for me!

I have to agree with you on that poin MadMarcano

I can't even view it, it gave me a white blank screen, and I cannot save it, because the progress bar is always stuck to 0%. I have to ask my friend to email it to me :P even though the image is only 2Kb.

But I really love the Group chat features, very convenient, and especially the Backup contact by email!!! love it.
Last night I tried to downgrade, and then upgrade again to the beta but all for nothing, I cannot get it to work, I even lost all the contact in the progress, so I load up the official version, and when I tried to restore from email the message was that I do not need to restore, since I already registered my email, it will be reconfigured for me automatically, and true enough, within 5 minutes all my contacts are back on line, including the new blackberry groups I created yesterday.

Nice Work RIM, but still need to improve on The image handling... hopefully they will come out with a patch or new updates.

My wife and I are having problems sending images back and forth with BBM 5 as well. It requires the receiver to accept the file, and then it takes quite a while to send. The biggest difference is that BBM 5 seems to send the "fullsize" image, while BBM 4.6 seemed to reduce the file size/resolution when sending.

Other than that, I like BBM5.

that's one of the few glitches. that you can't just view the images, you have GOT to save them. and i did have that problem when sending to a friend, the progress bar was stuck at 0% and then when i cancelled it, the pic i was sending disappeared, which was weird!

other than that i'm pretty happy with the new bbm.. it's pretty funky.
