Yes, when I did the upgrade in the store they quoted me:

$299-$50mir=$249 for 2 year extension
$349-$50mir=$299 for 1 year extension

I got pretty much the same story last year ($50 more discount for 2 years vs. 1 year extension) and had gone with the 1 year extension then so the first year is worth $150 and the added year is only worth $50 more - plus...

He couldn't tell me (without looking up an account that was still under contract) but he guessed it would have been $399 or more if I hadn't completed my 1 year extension from last year. That seems to jive with what people are reporting on here.

So, if I had gone with the 2 year extension last year I would have saved $50, but I would have paid $399 or so for the new phone this year. With the 1 year extension I got a $299 price for the new phone, saving $100 this year vs. $50 last year. When I add it up like that, it doesn't seem as ridiculous - save $50 now or $100 later and have a year's interest on the $50. It's basically a gamble as to whether or not something better is out there in about a year, but that seems to be the case in general so I do the 1 year extensions. There will most definitely be something better out there before 22 months are up...

(And, as always, YMMV with mail-in rebates - personally I hate them, which is why I like to use CC and whine until they comp me the rebate - you can't do that in a retail store... )

Jut got my BB 8320 from T-Mo. It's my first one and can't wait to start playing with it. It'll be replacing a very hated Treo 700P. By the way, for any Jersy-ites in my area, the T-Mo store on Rte 9 (by the Lowe's) just got word todat that they can seel them and they only had a total of 10 in (5 gold & 5 gray) as of 12:00 this afternoon when I went in to get mine (I was their first sale for a Curve!).

Good luck!

Default GOT IT...Pure Gold!

Just got mine-the sales rep Robin was fantastic....threw in extra stuff as well and waived activation + got my corporate discount. If anyone wants details of the rep/store please PM me.

In sunlight the Pale Gold looks better than the grey (IMHO).

Bought the router as well.

You guys make me sick. After reading all the post the last few days I had a dilema. Do I order the curve or do I get IPhone and unlock it. Well as you all know that was an easy choice, and BlackBerry it is. I was still going to wait for a week or two and order the phone, but reading all your post and seeing you guy playing with your new toys I couldn't hold out.

So I figured if I just order it through CC I can just pay for it next month and not take the $450 hit today. Well I just took the plunge and it should be here no later than this coming Wednesday. I think I made a good choice by paying the extra $50 and not doing a 2 year agreement. My contract is up in Febuary and I am sure with in the next 6-8 months there will be some new better than ever phone that I will want. So like an earlier poster said. Pay the $50 now to save at least a $100 later and not have to extend my contract.
