I def. think I am going to stick with my curve for awhile and wait for the bold to drop in price some... let them work the kinks out too (like a car....dont get the first in the new style).

Yes, a Bold. I met with my company's RIM Account Manager about a month ago and he had a working prototype and let me play with it for a few minutes. It was awesome. The resolution and sound was extraordinary (for a BB) and then after a few minutes of the video, it crashed. :( I guess that's why it's a prototype. It's also heavier than the Curve. All in all, I am supposed to get a free "seed" device for my company. Let's see what happens.

Won't know until I actually see one. I just bought an unlocked AT&T Curve to keep my options open. I'm out of contract so could switch to AT&T or wait and see if TMO gets it. Or I could decide it's not going to replace my gorgeous sweet little Curve (especially since I put 4.5 on the Curve).

I'm planning on switching to the Bold, I've had my Curve for about a year now and I can't get away from the Blackberry. I had an iPhone for about 2 months, and as "cool" as the touchscreen and all that is, it does not compare to any BB model. I am switching to the Bold just because I get sick of any phone that I have for more than 6 months. Does anyone know what the pricing will be on the Bold for retail? I know that it must be somewhere on the forum, but I'm just curious what kinds of numbers have been thrown out there.

The only thing that scares me about a new model is that there are always a few bugs upon first release. I can't wait for the Bold though, it looks like it will be a BB that revolutionizes the market, and I can't wait to get one in my hands. The money is certainly an issue, but every BB I've had has been durable enough to put up with my lifestyle (a college senior that happens to drop it quite often). But I'm excited for it, but otherwise I am in love with my Curve.

I agree, the price will certainly be better with a new contract, but I really hate how I have to wait 2 years every time I get a new phone for a price difference of only a few hundred dollars. I think the scam that carriers run with device prices is sickening, I understand it all, but the price difference is ridiculous. After being an AT&T customer for almost 5 years, and paying hundreds of dollars a month for the last year, I can't understand how I don't deserve a reduced price when I pay about 2000 a year for my service. I wish that they could allow customers price breaks based on the loyalty to the carrier, and not for the amount of time that I have a certain phone. I guess nothing will ever change with this, but still it really grinds my gears.

Anyway, I would be getting the Bold on its first day of release but I switched to a CDMA carrier in February and will have to pay about $700 to get out of my 3-year contract. (Why won't Industry Canada put a stop to the cancellation fee madness in Canada?!)

Unless I can get a Bold for free, there isn't a hope I'll be getting one any time soon. (I know, I am stupid enough to pay $700 to ditch a carrier to get it.)

Excuse me while I weep on my keyboard.

Thanks Pants!
Now I know.

the problem with selling a current blackberry on ebay is that most ppl would be interested in blackberry bold by then as well, possibly making a significant price drop of the curve since everyone doesnt want it anymore. =T
