I have an 8300 on ATT
v4.2.2.166
Platform 2.4.0.73

Will this update work on my phone? Or is it only for 8310 curves?

I have a big problem here. I could not get .52 to work (see my post in there) so I tried this. It seemed to be working and then I got an error that said something to the effect that I lost the connection to the device. Now all I have is a white screen with a black line across the top. When I try to reconnect it says it is unable to reconnect to the device.

I am a little scared here...

this OS is only for the 8310, as this thread is so appropriately and specifically named...

i have installed os v4.5 and it supports Korean at least so CJK should be supported. (Korean is only one i need)

i installed v4.2 CJK first though....

This particular release doesn't include CJK. Another carrier may release a CJK version, though.

I just upgraded to 4.5. The one thing I was wondering is if it's possible to get rid of the mouse-like pointer on the browser. I liked the old method that just scrolled to the next or previous links when using the scrollwheel, and not just having a pointer which makes things seem more slow when browsing.

I followed all the directions...downloaded the newest desktop software, deleted the vendor xml file, connected my bb and turned on the desktop software.

however, it NEVER prompts me to upload the new OS. Help?

by the way, i am doing this for a friend who has the 8310 and AT&T. Does anyone know if the 4.5 OS will allow him to have the video recording capability? I searched for that as well and couldn't find much on it.

Yes, it's posted about many times. OS 4.5 adds video recording capability. However, this is not the newest OS anymore. Check the stickys in this form for the latest for the 8310
