Very funny! I was referring to
a leaked pic of the Curve in the wild with AT&T branding.

I believe the criteria is having a $39.99 or higher AT&T voice plan...plus signing on for a Blackberry plan (which is a given).

I checked my trusty store in my area (Chicago/Northern Suburbs) and nothing yet. He said unless they get a shipment today/early tomorrow.

I'm on T-Mobile and have been hammering our Cingular Rep to get me a free Curve and I'd port my number over. I was told via email that I have one in the mail and should be here tomorrow. Time will tell...

How's the 8300 better than the 8800 other than the camera? 8800 looks cooler imo.

To me, it is more of a preference deal. Do you want the GPS or do you want the camera. I want the GPS.

Thanks CZ.

How about the FEEL of the device? Which feels more sturdy? I hated the pearl feeling. Very lightweight and cheap.

I would be very impressed if all of these stores are staying tight lipped abou the release. Oh have they been threatened that loose lips sink ships

I'm of the thought that they'll be getting an early shipment tomorrow from all stores. Can't blame them if they did it this way. I remember the 8800 launch being messed up.

But, hey, I still haven't gotten my email from Cingular from the early sign-up page...lol

I just think that most of the Reps really don't know, and to be honest don't care! But I think if RIM put out a press release saying it's droppin tomorrow, then it's droppin tomorrow! Unless AT&T drops the ball, I doubt they will though! But as usual, we'll just have to wait and see!

Lets face it, Reps do not make money selling phones. They make money starting up new account. Their only interest in teh 8300 is if it could sell some new accounts.

These people (Reps) are not crazy like we are and do not care about new phones like we do.

i work for cingular/at@t i just checked the shipments on the BB8300 by the sku which is in the computers and it is "64721" and no one in the country has any of these phones on order or they have not beens shipped YET!!!!
this means that the stores will not have them tomorrow or they have been shipped in their own boxes (like the treo 750) and it is not on an order they will just show up!
hope this helped,
Eric

What's funny is I believe this guy. Except for the one person who claimed that "they 'said' they have 10 in the back" nobody has talked to a store who confirmed they actually would have them. Do you not think that someone in the retail chain talks to distribution and it leaks? I've worked retail and nobody (corporate or store) knows how to keep their mouth shut (except Apple employees)... so after calling 10 local stores here I'm skeptical if I will be able to buy one tomorrow.

It's not. They're just different. The "better" device is the one that fits your needs/wants.

I walked into a local ATT store here. Walked up to the counter, and sure enough - there was the "job sheet" (that's what the clerk called it) for the 8300. I asked him if he had any now or was expecting any. He said no, but I could check tomorrow. He also commented that the "job sheet" always arrives about 1 week before the phone. "That's the way it's always worked, and I've been here 3 years". And of course we all know what 1 week from tomorrow is. June 7th - launch party day.
