Found 1 store out of 8 that I called in Medical center - Houston and surrounding areas.

They had 1 in stock.

Just picked mine up.

This is comical:

Store 1: "I don't know what phone you are talking about".
Store 2: "The launch was delayed because they found defects in the phone". I said, it is selling on line now, his response "those are the defective ones".
Store 3: "It isn't out yet". I said, it is selling on line now, his response "no it isn't". I said, I am looking at it on Cingular's site as we speak. His response "no you aren't, it isn't out yet".
Store 4 and 5: They may have it in after 2:00 p.m.

This is ridiculous!

Called two local stores this morning.

Store 1. We don't have them yet.

Store 2. Yep, we got them.

I go to store two where the manager apologizes and tells me although they are expecting their shipment of Curves today the salesperson who told me they had them was misinformed. She said they'd be coming in today and would hold one for me and call me when they arrived.

She just called me 5 minutes ago (about an hour after I had left the store) to let me know their shipment of Curves had arrived and that she'd hold one for me. I probably won't go and get it until tomorrow.

Bought mine at the Parmer Lane store shortly after 0900. Here is the report based on that time today:

Round Rock IH 35 Store- May have them, but won't know until the inventory person comes in later today.

Parmer Lane Store. I bought one, I think they still had one in stock.

IH35 at Capitol Plaza. Have them (quan?) in-stock, but in the back.

No stores have any accesories such as clips or cases.


BTW.. Office Depot has the 2GB micro SD cards on special for $29.99

As of 9am (Pacific) the Cingular store closest to me (north San Diego, CA) was aware of them but had not yet received the shipment. When asked when they expected them, the store manager said it could be the end of this week or into next week. I then asked if they were receiving any shipments today to which he replied "We'll probably receive some type of shipment later today, but I don't know if any 8300s will be in it, you could try back later this afternoon".

As I walked out of the store I heard one of the sales guys say "is that the 4th already"... they had been open for 5 minutes.

no luck in Orlando, called about nine at&t stores, although surprisingly they all knew what i was talking about!!! A couple of them said they expect it in by tomorrow or monday latest, while others said in a couple of weeks to a month

Called (3) stores here in Pinellas County Florida.

1). Knew what I was talking about, didn't get any today, maybe tomorrow.
2). "You mean the 8800?" None yet, don't have them on the order forms.
3). Nothing yet, maybe in a week or so.

One of the stores actually has a rep who has a Blackberry and is an enthusiast, so everytime I call I just ask for him. Makes things a TON easier.

My store still doesnt have them in yet, i am one of the bigger stores, in the country..... we usually get shippments in at 930, 12.00 and sometimes 3-4, so i will let you guys know if we get some in!

considering the rush to get these puppies on the shelves I would advise waiting for the next batch to ensure proper quality. I remember when the 8700 first came out. I bought one early and had to return it- TWICE - b/c there was dust under the screen.

The later versions were assembled properly.

Went to a store on 41st and 5th in NYC. He said next week, he may have specifically said next Monday, but I can not recall exactly which is was.

Yeah right!

I just hedged my bet and ordered the curve from AT&T for overnight priority shipping. It will be here tomorrow. If my friends at the store call and say they arrived, I will go and get one there two as I know my VP is going to want to steal mine!

All I am waiting for is tomorrow or a call today!
