CD works, but only thing CD does is give me the link to PocketMac SyncManager, which does absolutely nothing for me and i can't even get it to install on my mac (talked to a blackberry technician over the phone for 93 mins before he hung up on me)

No, Mac users cannot use BlackBerry Desktop Software. Yet. In September we should get the long-awaited BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac. Yea!

Until then, your options for updating are limited:
1. Use a pc. I keep an old IBM ThinkPad around just for this.
2. Run Windows through VMware or Boot Camp. Parallels will not work. Something about the USB connection in Parallels prevents it.

BlackBerry Desktop for Mac is my "Eleanor".

Hi, I just got a Tour (previous phone was Pearl).

With the Pearl, you could download these updates, rename/remove vendor.xml, and change blackberry.alx so that it allowed you to use all themes.

You could also then remove Java modules that you didn't need (such as voice activated dialing and unused themes)

Will this still work here?

So how does this OS work over the stock one? I have friend who's looking at getting a Tour from Bell Canada and I want to make sure he's not going to be disappointed. :o)

I did suggest he could wait for the Storm 2 and Onyx to come out!

AFAIK, this IS the stock OS. I got my Tour on day 2 when it was released by Sprint, and this is the OS that came on it.

Worked for me. Gave me the Sprint theme by removing "_vendorID=" in the blackberry.alx file. They (like the 8900) are pretty much the exact same except for the home screen wallpaper though

to read arabic you just need the semitic font file. its the same as the hebrew file. get the Read only for the tour on my site. (and no i do not have the write arabic for the tour)

it is a single file called semitic font file. it is not an OS. you simply install over the air and you will be able to read arabic charachters (if you were not able to by default)

there aren't really any other ones.
