Default 10.5.6+BB Storm= no bluetooth file transfer

Please Login to Remove!

I paired my Storm with my Mini, and everything is ok, until I try to send something via bluetooth from the storm to the mac or from the mac to the storm.

Of course I have the option of using the usb cable, but I was used to transfer small files via bluetooth with my former mobile phone (Sony Ericcson V630i)

I suspect the problem is the Blackberry doesn't state it's capabilites correctly? V630i had "Obex File Transfer" and "OBEX Object Push" while the Storm don't have them?

Is it just a problem with configuration or that Storm doesn't allow those services?

It's that the storm doesn't allow bluetooth file transfer.

You can receive media files via bluetooth.
- Click "Media"
- Click the blackberry button
- Click Receive Using Bluetooth

so what's the point in having a "send via bluetooth" in any contextual menu if it doesn't allow it?
I'm a bit confused about this

I have successfully received media files (MP3's) using that method above. But, for example, if you click "Send File" or "Browse Device" from your Mac (via Bluetooth), this will not work because the BB doesn't allow this.

ok, now I understand...

Have tried to use "Send File" from mac while the "receive by bluetooth" is activated and it works!
Also, I tried to send information from the storm to another mobile phone, and also works.
edit: searched in apple forums and I had to activate bluetooth in "share preferences" ... now I can receive files from the storm! :D

Thanks everyone for the help

Well, you are one step ahead to me..I didn't know you could do that . What do you have to change in Sharing for bluetooth to work?

just enabling it with default options!

I did the pairing of the device, it was registered in bluetooth devices in the mac, but for some strange reason, you have to enable sharing to receive... it has no sense, but it works
