See my posts earlier in this thread, around page 2, dated Nov 23. the file in in the loader files subdirectory deep within Program Files>common>RIM> shared, etc. Do a "search file" in Windows to find it if necessary.

Upgraded from .185 to .190 yesterday and so far so good. The upgrade seems to have fixed a problem I was having with the Bold freezing from time to time. The OS is faster and the battery life is amazing! I haven't charged my Bold since yesterday after the upgrade and 24hrs later I'm still at 70%. Not having any problems displaying my picture thumbnails, but I have my pictures on my media card. Movies play fine, no lag or skipping when playing music or listening to streaming radio. Only issue is I had to reactivate all of my third party apps. I'll post back in a few days with updates.

Thanks!
Unless there is a fix for the thumbnail issue
|
Based on my experience, and that of several others who have confirmed the same issue, thumbnails for pics in the device memory don;t display. I have the destination folder for new pics shot with the onboard camera set to a folder on my SD card. All of the pics I take with the camera display their thumbnails correctly as a result. Setting your destination folder for camera pics to one on your SD card would probably resolve your issue. Everything else with .190 seems to work great.
|
Only thing is I don't have a memory card. I went back down to what I had originally. Gonna wait for .195 I hear may be out. That thunbnail thing got to me. Everything else about it was awesome though. Everything was quicker.
Any news when Rogers will update theirs? They are still running on .162 I believe.

Upload not successful
Hi guys,
I've followed the instructions (i.e. delete the vendor.xml file, and then run the loader), but the process took under a minute, with last promting being "no action required", or so.
I've tried also having the DM open, but same thing.
When i go to "About" in my device's Options, I still see my old version - v.4.6.0.92
I'm with KPN in the Netherlands btw.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I have just updated my bold from .185 to .190. Main reason I updated was my bold was resetting itself about once a day. Will see if this has fixed the problem.

190
Hello all i am just installing 190 on to my bold with fingers crossed. The programme came up saying that afterwards i need to register wirelessly. Does this mean send service books or register via the host routing table ?
Cheers

Well fingers are now gratefully uncrossed. The only reason i was worried is that vodafone only support up to 162. All seems to have gone seemlessly. Browser is definatley quicker, thumbnails are fine and i can now recieve pics via mms. Have also sent test emails to my accounts to check that handset had registered.
Happy Days, if only vodafone customer services was this easy.

Some things:
1. I think this is mentioned before...if you switch the phone off by holding the red button and enabled SIM PIN, there is no prompt for PIN when switching the device on by pressing the red button. I actually prefer it this way since I have a password. The SIM PIN request does occur after a battery pull though or reboot.
2. If you are in month view in Calendar (my default), Agenda view takes ages to load after pressing 'A'. Day and Week Views are fast to load.
*EDIT*: This is no longer true. For some reason it fixed itself.
3. Whatever ringtone/notifier I set for my carrier's email, the same tone gets assigned to my Gmail. This is so far in Normal profile.

hi guys, i have no problems with the update to version .190. the thumbnails, well, that's fine, i can get over that (isn't such a big deal), however.. i have a question. whenever i turn off my phone and turn it back on, in previous versions, i could still enter my PIN code. however, only after upgrading to the new OS, has it come down to that, only if i do a reboot of the phone and when it restarts can i enter the PIN code. i've tried to disable and enable security.. but i can't seem to get my PIN code on, when i just press the good ol' red button. any help here?

Are you talking about the SIM PIN to unlock the SIM Card or the Pass Code to unlock keyboard?
