Got my parts this morning! Just know that you are required to sign, so if you aren't home you'll have to go to your post office.
The mod was pretty easy. I was going to time the mod, but forgot.. i'd say it took about an hour for me.
A case opening tool isn't really necessary, but it was nice to have. Same with the D-Style tweezers.
I purchased some ribbon/mesh stuff and double sided tape from Walmart just in case I needed them. I did indeed need the mesh. I ripped the top mesh from the top (the easiest one to remove!?) and so I put my mesh there. (I used the double sided tape to stick it on) This part was tedious and hard but worked well I think.
I got the Black Bezel + Flat Black back, with black buttons and the pictures tools from
Cellular Accessories - BlackBerry, Panasonic, BenQ-Siemens, HTC, 3G, LG, Acer, Microsoft, Sony, Alcatel. I cannot use the Black Back because it doesn't seem to fit 100%. It does fit, but it makes a "popping" noise on the left when pressed a little. The stock default back works fine though. I'd suggest just sticking with that and saving yourself about 20 bucks and not buying the back combo kit.
The side metal charging contacts are actually pretty easy to get out if done right. There's a metal tab attached to it that is on the inside of the case, push that up and then you can easily push out the contacts from the outside.
I suggest removing the screen from the circuit board. It is stuck to it with double sided tape, but if you pry each edge off it will finally come. Without removing the screen it's almost impossible to put the circuit board back in place correctly! I did 2 pieces of my own double sided tape to reattach the screen.
I also didn't need to melt any button tabs for them to work. All in all, it went pretty smooth.
Here are the pics: (no video, sorry!)
