Default App World won't install

Please Login to Remove!

sorry if this has been posted before, but i can't seem to find it on search.

I have just got a new 9700 on contract. Its a generic BB one, with no logos and is not locked to any network.

It auto-updated when connected to BB desktop to OS v5.0.0.321 (platform 5.1.0.90)

I tried to install blackberry app world OTA from the blackberry web site.
I got an error "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support blackberry app world"

seems silly that RIM's latest device can't install its own App world.

Anyone know why this is ?

Where are you located?
And do you have THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your mobile provider account?

Yep, you need the BlackBerry BIS account enabled and running on the device.

I installed the BlackBerry App World, and I'm getting this message when I try to start it saying "Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities at BlackBerry App World. Contact your service provider for more details." I just got it 3 hours ago if that matters.

Do I need to be in 3G for any apps to work? Maybe that's why I can't use the app world or AIM.

No, you don't need to be in 3G. Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account?

I figured out why it said I had to upgrade my plan. I go the phone via my mom's upgrade, so the data plan was assigned to her SIMS card. I went to an AT&T stand in the mall and got it moved over to my card. Love the phone! I think I'll stay with BB for a pretty long while.
