Hey there folks. I'm a new Blackberry user, I purchased a Storm yesterday with an 18 month contract (900m | 500t).

I just have a couple of questions.

When I went into my phones "Voice Recordings" there were 2 recordings there. One was from the 3rd Nov, 4th Nov - both recordings were about 12/15 seconds long, and sounded like they was in a shop/office - I could clearly here someone playing around with the phone; lots of crackling.

Did anyone else get this? I mean, I'm paying a lot for this phone and do not want to be given a display model that other people have been using/testing. Should I ask for a new one? I'm a bit funny like that.

Furthermore, there is not plastic cover (apart from a small one that had "Touch Screen" written over it, which covered 1/2 the screen) on the touch screen; did anyone get a plastic cover - these normally come on new phones with large screens.

Thank for the answer; just want to figure out if my new phone is just that - a new phone, and not one that has been passed around the shop for the past 2 weeks.

Ad2. Yes i have plastic cover. Looks like screen protector.

I receive my one yesterday and was brand new never open (like a virgin).

Call Vodafone and ask why you have(don't have) all of these?

Well, the phone is going back to the shop. How dare they give me a display unit. I even drove all the way up to London (total 7 hour journey) to get this phone as everywhere else was sold out.

If they do not swap the phone, then I'll hand it back and cancel my subscription.

On Friday during lunch break I go to Vodafone shop, nice curly girl, shows me phone (only phone what a shame). I back to my company, login on web page and yesterday (Saturday) about 10:30 receive my phone at home.

You just have bad luck, i hope you sort this out.

hmm...that seems strange for vodafone. i too got my storm from the store yesterday, but it didnt have any prerecorded stuff or anything like that on it. it did get a screen protector though, however it had a big sticker on it in all languages which took up half the screen, and i couldnt get that off without taking the protector off =/ kinda gay tbh. go get a replacement =D

Should be 4 transparent plastic covers: front (covers whole screen area), back, front top edge and front base.

From what you say, suggest you turn it straight round and insist on a unit in a sealed box.
