Default Best PDF on Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any advice as I need a good PDF reader for my Bold 9700. I am not sure of the best solution as I only need to be able to read documents on the go and editing is therefore not required

Thanks
Martin

I like PDFtoGo in DocumentsToGo Premium edition.

That said, two other good ones are BeamReader Suite and Repligo.

I bought DTG Premium, an all in one package in my opinion.

Try the trial for DTG Premium and see how you like it.

You also have repligo, BeamBerry.

If the files only have text in them, try MobiPocket. Converting PDF files and transferring them using the MobiPocket desktop application is painless and free. And the reader application that you install on your BB is excellent, in terms of resources used, loading speed, ease of document navigation, search function, customizability of display, etc.

Someone had said that the reader sold with DocToGo premium is Repligo, but I haven't looked into it yet. It's on my list of apps I need.

Do you know where I can find one compatible for OS 5 to use on the Bold 9700? Every OTA link I've found is bunk, doesn't install.

My 9700 opens PDFs without the need for any extra software. I thought all Blackberrys could open PDFs without needing extra software.

Not if you're copying large PDF's to your memory card. Email attached PDF's open natively, but when you start talking about 30 MB PDF's you have to do something 3rd party.

Anybody find something that can follow links inside the document? DocsToGo seems to only be able to follow bookmarks, this isn't good enough on big manuals.

If you're referring to the Attachment Service ... then yes, previously attaching a PDF to an email and sending to yourself worked (to a maximum size unsure how large). I believe this still works on BES activated BB's but I'm unsure if BIS does this any longer and to be quite frank the slowness of 3kb at a time in sending the pdf to the BB was just too slow for anything larger than 2MB, for me at least.

^ SHOOT! I knew I forgot to try that with the trial version of RepligoPDF. I've noticed the Canadian price of Repligo went up some $4CAN just in the last 10days.

Don't worry, if Repligo is the one that comes OEM'd as DocsToGo, it doesn't work.
