Default Torch 9860 and BT Openzone

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am having problems connecting to BT Openzone wifi hotspots. I am a BT Openworld customer and so have access but my problem is the BB will not connect to the hotspot. It detects the presence of the network, says it is 'connecting to BTOpenzone' then I get 'Failed to obtain an IP address'.

I've tried on several different hubs. I can connect to my own hub from the secure side but not to its open BTOpenworld side.

Hope someone can help. TIA

Since it seems like your able to connect to WiFi, it doesn't seem to be a hardware related issue.

I would contact your carrier and ensure that all the setup options are correct. There may be an IP/DNS/WINS/DHCP address that may be off.

Cheers,
--Phil

Do you need to goto a log in page to put in your credentials - user name and password? Try going to the browser after the wifi has connected.

No, the problem is it won't connect to the wifi at all. Says 'unable to obtain IP address'
