Question Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi:

I download this tonight, installed and received an error "507" with wite screen. I pulled the battery and went to loader in my common files and re-installed and it worked. However, I lost all my programs, contacts etc... Luckily I had a back-up but none of my applications were backed-up.

For some reason I don't have a browser icon or password keeper. How do I get them back?

Is there something I did wrong that caused this problem and loss of data and apps? I read others had this issue with other OS

Thanks

There are instructions about the 507 error in the first post of this thread. If the 507 thing happens (it does occasionally, even to me) you will lose 3rd party apps. You'll have to reinstall them.

I just posted a backup method for 3rd party apps today in the RIM Software forum. Might help for next time.

To get the browser you'll need to register the device. Go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table >Menu key select Register now.

For Password keeper you'll need to plug the device back in, go back into application loader and check the box. Check to make sure the other application boxes are checked (for the ones you want,) as well, while you are there.

Edit: I changed the first post of this thread and added a link to the instructions for backing up 3rd party apps. Better late than never....

Working great here. Faster than the previous upgrade for T-Mo(.103). Seems like the phone is running faster too.

What's this new OS supposed to do? Fix all the stuff they botched with the .103? I can only assume that's what it is. If so can I still get .64 back on my device, if so how?

When you go to download this, T-Mobile has a list of features/fixes with this OS. And yes you can go back to .64 OS but this upgrade seems fine. Go to the first post in this thread and click the one of the links (bottom one I think), it will take you to previous versions of OS.

You can't do the OS upgrade OTA. You have to use a PC.

Default 2007 DST patch

Since this version has the DST patch built-in, should I remove the 2007 DST patch I installed before after the upgrade?

I installed this OS into my BlackBerry Pearl earlier this evening. Seems very stable thus far and my Pearl is much quicker!

Haven't noticed much else yet...
You can switch the grid menu to the ribbon menu as described here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/608695-post170.html. I did this when upgrading to 101 and it worked great. I am sure it's the same set of steps to replace it in 107.

Can anyone tell me whether or not this fixed the painfully slow lookups from the dialing menu? You know, when you begin to type someone's name into the phone app and it searches for them... When you highlight the name, it's supposed to automatically show all the numbers underneath. Well, in 4.2.0.x systems it was lightning fast. With 4.2.1.x (I'm on .101), it became slow as hell (takes 1-2 seconds for numbers to appear).

Well i installed the update ".107" and the one that came with my pearl was 4.2.064, All you get with this new update is an option when you have you'r browser opes that you can use the mouse "desktop view" and the other update is with the browser also open hit options then the second one down and you'll see towards the bottom it will say image quality that's it! now i use tmo and i also use my pearl as a modem. Now with 064 firmware i have a transfer rate of 25.2 kbps after this new update it went all the way down to 9.4 kbps lmao!! so yeah thats my gripe yay t-mo lol NOT!

The upgrade killed my Pearl, all it does is show the spinning hour glass after the OS was finished installing. Any suggestions?
